How To Be An Earth Citizen In A Shifting Paradigm

Why Is It Important To Be A Global Citizen?

Often considered the final stage of the journey to being whole and the pursuit of holistic wellness that we promote here at Holistic Kingdom is learning your purpose and becoming a global citizen. Your life’s purpose is inherently tied to your unique gifts and talents that can bring the greatest amount of benefit to the world. And just like the eloquent poem “O Me! O Life!” by Walt Whitman espouses you are entitled to contribute a verse to the play of life. When you create lasting wholeness and wellness within yourself there is nothing left to do but help others in the world find their path. Buddhists call this your dharma which is your ‘right way of living’, and many people in the modern era would call it your ‘journey’. This is the pathway you take to find true meaning, your life’s purpose and your true identity and ultimately what you will contribute to the global community. Most find it very difficult to be of service to the greater good until they have found their path towards holistic wellness. So search within yourself first as this will lead you to become a global citizen pursuing your passion and purpose, which you will find to be one and the same.

Why Should You Find Your Purpose?

The world appears to be destabilizing in many ways especially in the case of outdated systems that will not be able to sustain the requirements of a global population that is ever-growing and evolving. So the world needs solutions in many areas such as health care, food production, energy usage, transportation, sustainability and housing. This is exactly where the needs of humanity can be met through each individual finding their purpose and hence the place where they can make their greatest contribution to bringing about the solutions necessary for humanity to survive and thrive. As of right now Earth is the only home we have so it is imperative that we take immaculate care of her. We are living in chaotic times, but it is self-made. These global paradigms are shifting with the forces of human evolution and technology driving them but as the 2nd law of thermodynamics states chaos is the necessary precursor to developing a higher order.

Contributing To The Global Good

So what can you do as an individual navigating through this turbulent time?  Find your place in the process. The process of bringing about this shift in paradigms. There is no other logical choice but to continue moving forward. Each individual’s effort will bring us fully into what many are calling a new and emerging era. Call it the Golden Age, The Age of Intuition, whatever you like it is primarily a collective evolution. We have become smarter and we as humans are evolving like any other species on the planet, adapting to create a better quality of life and build a better mousetrap. This is the human engine, we are endowed with a spark to move forward. Although the natural tendency is sometimes to hold onto the past, stay flexible and open-minded and ride the wave into this exciting new era.

Some are already taking steps to live in the new era, as seen in the growth of many new markets in recent history such as solar technology, reducing carbon footprints, buying electric cars, living off grid and local farm operations. New thought leadership is also on the rise as seen in disruptive technologies, artificial intelligence and changes in institutions of higher learning.

Ways To Get Involved

Part of the approach to holistic wellness that we at Holistic Kingdom advocate and discuss often involves helping others, and not just people but animals, the environment and the planet in general. It is a scientifically proven fact that giving yourself to a cause greater than yourself improves your own well-being and at the end of the day, being a global citizen is all about giving of yourself. As noted, the world is changing at a remarkable pace and by getting involved in this process you ensure that your future is as bright as you envision it to be. Here are some distinguished organizations that can help you get involved and contribute your verse to the magical play of life.

Conclusion

As part of the holistic approach to wellness it is necessary to contribute to a cause larger than yourself. This will give you your sense of purpose that is necessary for total wellness to be achieved. There is no question we live in tumultuous times that is indicative of our shifting collective paradigm. We have massive global issues that need to be addressed. The up side is we have the technology and ingenuity to solve any and all current global problems. So that means each individual needs to find their place of greatest service that incorporates their unique gifts and talents. The macrocosm is always a direct reflection of the sum of each microcosm so it takes each individual’s effort for collective progress. So embrace the changing times and new technologies as they are the vehicles we ride into the newly emerging era.
